The Sea Vixen was the aircraft used by British naval aviation for 20 years and was the first in the world to have swept wings that could be folded for use on aircraft carriers. In 1964, the Fleet Air Arm commissioned the FAW 2, an upgraded version of the Sea Vixen armed with modern air-to-air missiles.
